Discover Norfolk's stately homes and hidden gems

Perfect for afternoon wonders and family days out, there’s plenty of history and beauty to be discovered at our National Trust parks here in Norfolk.

These are some of our favourites:

Blickling Estate

Nestled within enchanting landscapes and sophisticated parkland, Blickling Hall is a must-see visit when staying with us here at The Ship Inn.

Whether you're crunching through leaves on those frosty autumn mornings, or enjoying the beautiful blossom in spring, Blickling Estate is the perfect place to visit with all the family; there's 4,600 acres to be explored!

Blicking is fantastic for getting stuck into the great outdoors. From running and fishing, to dog walking and cycling trails, you’ll be spoilt for choice as to how to spend your time at Blickling.

The top 3 walks suggested by Blickling are:

  • Blickling Estate Walk - a walk around the Blickling Estate parkland, visiting points of interest including the Tower, Brickyard and Mausoleum.
  • Blickling Mausoleum Walk - a gentle walk through the beautiful woodlands.
  • Multi-Use Trail Walk - a 4 mile, safe off-road path through Blickling’s historic park and farmland.

And when you’re all adventured out, there’s the Muddy Boots Cafe, The Bucks Arms and The Stables Cafe which all offer a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as light bites, sandwiches and cakes. Take your pick!
